Not really a production for movie maniacs, more one that's mostly bat shit insane. McDonald soon slips into a surreal little world revolving around late night cinema and crime. Generally, it's much more uninteresting than it sounds and the majority of the first two thirds is a reasonably uneventful affair with only a few decent moments. One of the ending scenes is hysterical however, following a running theme which suddly reaches fruition to excellent comedy effect. Blended towards mediocrity.
