These are naturally sad stories, but I have to say they're hardly surprising. In fact, the most surprising thing is that the homes they're fleeing really don't seem THAT bad. But I suppose the mythical American Dream is too much for some to resist. Cammisa wisely stays away from politicizing the situation. However, there is also a lack of any proposed remedies to the problem. Whatever the case, the material is very engaging as we get wrapped up in the plight of these young vagabonds.

_The Journey of Natty Gann_ this isn't. More like _Death Race 2000_. Boy, are these kids screwed. That being said, steps have to be taken to halt illegal immigration. Call me a heartless bastard, but as an American and southern California resident I think we have the right to staunch the (endless) flow before my home becomes one giant slum due to overpopulation... just like most of Asia has been for the last 60 years. Hell, I'd resort to force to keep that from happening, if necessary

Informative and emotional, but why'd they have to go and crib the Jesse James theme? It's great music, but here it only distracted me from the stories.
