Who the #$&% is Jackson Pollock? (2006)

Summary: When Teri Horton, a 73-year-old former long-haul truck driver with an eighth grade education, bought a painting in a thrift shop for five dollars, she didn't know that it would pit her against the highest and mightiest people in the art world and perhaps change forever the way art is authenticated. This rollicking adventure story documents Teri's 15-year war with the art world, lifts the veil on how art is bought and sold in America, and introduces audiences to the funny, profane and thoroughly unforgettable Teri Horton. A.k.a. "the quest for authenticity". Doesn't accomplish much as it tries hard to give a glimpse into the 'art world' from the outside. Not uninteresting, but having an interest in art beforehand certainly helps.

I enjoyed this, I enjoyed the down-to-earth and hard-knuckle simplicity of Teri Horton, I enjoyed her strong-minded determination in taking on the art world. I enjoyed exploring the deeper facets of the artworld and its questions of authenticity. You could say I enjoyed this...

Thomas Hoving is one brilliant character among many in this film. What a twit! The forensic work was quite fascinating too.

I feared that, as with most documentaries, this would dry up somewhere in the middle area and be a laborious chore to continue to sit through. Slap my mouth and call me stunned, 'cause this remarkable doc kept me thoroughly engaged its whole runtime. That comparison shot even got an oh my God out of me, and it does irritate and concern me that the film doesn't go any further into it. I guess the authenticity lies in Biro's conclusions, and that - for whatever reason - is still debatable.
