This is by no means contemporary in its view of heterosexual relationships (especially the female component), but this predecessor to the screwball marriage comedies of the following decade is still surprisingly modern and sharp. In between a lot of archaic notions of love and stuff, natch. Of course, it helps that the women here, Gloria Swanson and Bebe Daniels, are leagues more compelling and interesting than the guy they fight over.
