It's an interesting (not entirely successful, but certainly interesting) animated style, but what really lets Wild Life down is the stagnant story: with nothing much happening, there's a creeping sense of ennui that never tries to become much else. The result is a short that feels as though it's constantly putting style over substance, with little to show for it.
