I went into this one with very low expectations but ended up being pleasantly surprised. Yes, it is the epitome of a low budget movie, complete with uninspired direction, a lousy script and sub par acting. But its also pretty funny and a few of the characters even come off as likable. It's not for everyone, but fans of cheesy B movies will probably have as much fun with it as I did.

TITLE FACT CHECK: First off, there's only ONE wizard to be found in the movie, and he's really more of a warlock (though I suppose a case for thaumaturge could be made). The closest thing I found to a demon is a stop motion stegosaurus, which we all know is no true demon (unless it can be proven to have been possessed by a level 30 or higher spirit with an alignment of chaotic evil). Finally, the 'sword' is actually more of a dagger (or misericorde, as it is used to make the killing stroke).

Has a sense of humor which pushes it above most generic sword-and-sorcery adventures.

Horrible acting with some pointless stop motion included. I still found it somewhat entertaining. It's an average low budget fantasy for the era.

An evil wizard kidnaps the keeper of The Blade of Aktar which can be used to open a portal to ultimate evil or something. The keeper's daughter and a dopey swordsman named Thane have to rescue the keeper and retrieve the blade before the wizard figures out how to use it. Terrible dialog, cheap costumes, and crappy fights, but this flick is hilarious with all it's modern day anachronisms and hammy acting. Lawrence Tierney and Michael Berryman both have small cameo roles.

Hideously awful low budget swords and sandals disaster, with some so-bad-it's-good appeal mixed in. Could have used more blood and tits though.
