Summary: Harry and Inez are a dance team at the Wonder Bar. Inez loves Harry, but he is in love with Liane, the wife of a wealthy business man. Al Wonder and the conductor/singer Tommy are in love with Inez. When Inez finds out, that Harry wants to leave Paris and is going to the USA with Liane she kills him. (imdb)

A catalog of pre-Production Code amorality (a character gets away with murder, nearly everyone is having some kind of affair), raciness (including a blatant homosexual gag that had me guffawing) and alas, a Jolson blackface number. Story is sub-Grand Hotel intrigue, but the film really soars during Busby Berkeley's musical setpiece. It's like the gates of heaven opening up.
