A low-budget zombie movie with an attention to small details and a big idea that needs more exploration in a sequel, Wyrmwood is a film I wish I liked more, and yet am completely ready for another. It has a lot of problems, like the camerawork, zombie-movie clichés, an at-times mishandled story, and a very cheap feel, but its smarts and gleeful use of blood make me want to see more from its filmmakers. Hopefully they'll get to capitalize on the idea that used a whole movie just to introduce.

It takes a LOT to make a zombie movie anything new in 2015, but this one has just enough innovative weirdness to catch you.

Not bad. Feels a bit "budget".

This movie certainly introduces some new things to the zombie genre. It has moments that are stronger than others and a few interesting characters, like Benny and Brooke. The biggest issue with this movie is that it feels disjointed with its plot and it's tricky to fully get a grasp of it. Funny moments here and there and some good action bits, but all of this could have been brought together in a stronger way. I always thought the Hilux is the best car for the zombie apocalypse, too.

Excellent indie zombie action. I'd love to see what these guy would do with a decent budget!

Too much CGI and you don't get much depth to any of the characters so you don't give a shit who dies. The few negatives aside it's a pretty solid low budget zombie flick that's about as unique as you can get and still be a indie zombie/horror film. One of the best things about this movie is that it stays pretty true to it's own story logic which is a nice change.

Started off strong and ended strong. Kept my attention the entire time with some intriguing new twists with their zombies' abilities. Love it!

Suffers from some unexplored/ unexplained plot devices & characterless characters, Burchill making the most of the script on offer. Some redemption can be found in the film's own consistent tone as well as the shed sequence being a highlight. Still, the script lacks another layer beyond immediate reactions and your standard epitaph or two.

Weird low-budget zombie movie that doesn't outstay its welcome.

They made a bit of a mistake with the serious bits dragging on to long but when this is irreverant and going for humour it's a winner

Zombie film set in Australia, so I'm a bit biased. The zombies have this stupid CGI breathing that is rather inventively explained, but the ending is very contrived and overall ruins the film for me.

Feels like more like a pilot for a SyFy show than a loopy Ozploitative ride through hell.

Not going to hold the lack of budget or acting against them. The film has enough uniqueness to rise above other low budget zombie shite. There's definitely potential here and I would like to see what the director could do with higher production values. Not to spoil anything, but the idea surrounding the ending left me wanting more, i.e., a sequel.

Not nearly as funny as it thinks it is but it gets points for killing a zombie within 1 minute of the film opening and continuing the ridiculous pace

Hits the accelerator and doesn't look back. The obvious CGI robs it of some of its potential - movies like this should REEK, damnit - but still a fun ride.

Bloody, funny and made in Australia. A zombie movie at its best. My opinion here : http://opinion-as-a-moviefreak.blogspot.si/2016/03/wyrmwood-2014.html
