Commendable debut effort by Austin Chick, and all around solid performances by the cast. Ruffalo plays the miserable lover torn between the women, and he is quite in his element playing the role. Not a boring moment, although a tad depressing at times, but that's only the characters' miseries getting through to you.

Decent film, not altogether very surprising though. Fine drama about relationships and sexual tensions.

There is an uneasiness, as people are never quite as happy as they should be, and even if the film tries to be upbeat, there is an overriding sense of uncertainty that always lingers in the distance. But then, the same can be said about any relationship, which makes XX/XY feel all the more real. Excellent stuff from an up-and-coming talent. [ Full Review]
