The experience of seeing multiple characters on screen is great if their interactions aren't jumbled, but having the experience of seeing multiple characters that have contrasted abilities are fascinating, not only to the eye, but also to the mind. You can't often assume sides within a world that is conflicted by both peace and revenge and these actors have the ability to portray their own abilities as an advantage, rather than a disadvantage.

Better then average comic book adaptation. It's basically like A Separate Peace with adamantium claws instead of a tree by a river.

Good beginning film, though not as good as it's sequel.

First big-time super hero movie released post-Batman & Robin, and nicely washed the bad taste out of everyone's collective mouth, paving the way for future comic blockbusters like Spiderman and Batman Begins.

A so-so superhero movie that if nothing else, paved the way for the onslaught of comic book movies that have bombarded us in recent years (with both good (Spider-Man 2, The Dark Knight) and bad (Fantastic Four and Ghost Rider) results).
