Summary: Every week, toy-shop owner Gan and his cute assistant Ai battled the evil Doronbo gang. The gang led by femme fatale Doronjo and her assistants-pig-nosed muscleman Tonzra and rat-faced mecha genius Boyacky-for pieces of the mystical skull stone, and every week the Doronbo gang failed (usually due to incompetence). Then there was a mushroom cloud, Gan and Ai did their Yatterman dance and the gang regrouped the following week to do it all over again. (imdb)

Probably the closest thing to a live action cartoon I have ever seen. Although plainly written for children, Miike went completely nuts with this one... many of the action scenes are reminiscent of Looney Tunes, there are mecha with nipple guns who have orgasms, and lots of internal recognition of itself as a silly movie. For some reason I can't fathom, I like this movie a lot.

Wacky in all sorts of ways(like it's not expected from Miike), sometimes imaginative in its wackiness. But typical uber anime gayness is a huge turn off and it's way too scatterbrained.

Very good parody of superhero series and characters, and some truly insane gags, but there were some significant pacing problems, and a paucity of jokes, especially near the end.
