It's a nice concept, and I liked Kingsley and Leoni in it, but it didn't quite hit whatever mark it was aiming for, I think. Or maybe I was just expecting it to hit the wrong mark. The whole hitman thing takes kind of a backseat, this is really more about a man trying to get sober. It's an enjoyable movie, but it's not quite funny enough and not quite interesting enough to be a really good movie.

Just didn't click for me. I agree with the some of the other reviewers here about the fact that overdue emphasis was given to the whole AA and alcoholism thing, that some of the other facets of the movie were underexploited.

Ben Kingsley plays a hit man who is forced to join an AA group after his drinking problem comes in between his job...worth watching for the romantic take between Ben Kingsley and Tea Leoni..and yes not so bloody take on the mafia after all...

you kill me is an expertly written and extremely witty fresh take on a mob movie. kingsley takes the role and simply runs with it, and wilson and leoni fit in perfectly. this is a real good light comedy with a great feel good ending.

Good. A quirky comedy about an alcoholic Polish hitman trying to get on the wagon. This is just another 'man facing midlife crisis' flick saved solely due to Ben Kingsley's excellent portrayal of the aforementioned hitman. Also features a great turn by Philip Baker Hall and Dennis Farina is great as usual. Decent but uninspiring direction, nice execution and pacing make this an ok time waster. Recommended.

A fun little dark comedy. Ben Kingsley does good work here, in a performance I can only describe as "honest". He portrays a true blue-collar hitman, without evil or sadism (he cites his regret not as killing people, but "killing them badly"...), which is an interesting change. The plot is otherwise nothing special, moving precariously slow, but the laughs are there, spread out fairly evenly. Recommended only to people with patience and a penchant for dark humour, or Dennis Farina completists...

nice black humor--good dialogue and some nice moments by Kingsley, but the problem: Tea Leoni miscast--didn't have chemistry with Kingsley (to make believable a gorgeous woman like her going for a not-so-gorgeous guy like him). Filmmakers did the same thing with Leoni, pairing her up with Gervais in Ghost Town.

A good film. Kingsley's character can seem a bit strange at times...he's 'raw' but doesn't seem to be very emotional most of the time. I think the character is a very simple man who is for some reason (which is unexplained) is very, very sad. Very not bad.

A really fun and charming movie (not a word I would often use to describe a movie about organized crime). Kingsley is excellent as the alcoholic hitman, I loved his blunt personality and his almost-sneering indifference and disregard for others. At the same time, his personal growth didn't feel forced, it was convincing and well-handled. Just a really enjoyable movie.

Pretty enjoyable black comedy which was somewhat let down for me by a mismatch between the light tone and dark subject matter. Also Philip Baker Hall is about the only one playing it straight, the rest of the cast are all quite eccentric - no bad thing.
