As near a perfect comedy as possible. Wilder, Feldman, Kahn, and Garr are amazing but Leachman is the best. And Boyle never better.

I am not a huge Mel Brooks fan. I think this movie is over-hyped, especially when compared with other Brooks films. Peter Boyle and Madeline Kahn are fun to watch, and surprisingly, Teri Garr is somewhat of a babe. Personally, comedies are the genre of film that hold up the least over time.

I suppose if I had watched it as a child, I might have thought it funny, and may have had a fondness for it today. However, watching it for the first time as an adult, I found it to be just a mildly amusing during most scenes, with the occasional moment of true inspiration. [Full Review]
