Saw this with zero knowledge of Roky or the Elevators, which was a good thing, because it allowed me to be genuinely surprised by the twists of his life. I struggled with some of the movie because the footage of Roky in the NOW, as compared to his vintage performances, were just too heartbreaking. What a talent...what a voice. Normally I don't have a problem with "depressing" films, but I did this time...not sure why. In any case, Roky's closing acoustic performance was an exhilarating surprise.

Fascinating, fascinating, fascinating!! The end brought tears to my eyes. The story of Roky and his family was told in a really interesting and suspenseful way. Near perfect. "Do you know how to say 'boots'?"

Very good portrait of a talented artist going completely around the bend. You wanna say, "Another druggie buys the farm, case closed", but this movie is structured kind of like a murder mystery: you cannot be sure who or what led Roky to his sorry fate
