Surprisingly good, and obviously not to be taken seriously (weren't were all stupid teenagers ?). Despite what is being said, Michael Cera does not "play the same role over again" and is here really enjoyable to watch as a psychotic teenager and his badass french alter-ego.

Though it is enjoyable on many occasions I find it hard to rate this higher. Cera is adequate, but watching this after Scott Pilgrim it feels like a bit of a step back. His two characters in this have less depth combined than Scott Pilgrim did. Doubleday is poorly cast. When it comes down to it it isn't really... interesting, engaging or memorable - nor really believable, which creates an odd clash re: its feeling of sincerity. Not enough to hate, not enough to love.

The set up is great, but soon devolves into another teen male deflowering fantasy.

A mediocre movie. Cera is just as irritatingly pretentious in the role of rebellious brat and as he is in the role of whining introvert.

An interesting turn from Michael Cera, perhaps this will be his transition into badass roles. He was great in the double role, and has never shown more talent then he did here. The entire cast was good, including newcomer Portia Doubleday as well as Justin Long, Steve Buscemi and Rooney Mara. All around good comedy, the laughs came from Michael Cera's badass alter ego Francois. Solid movie, solid plot, interesting love story.

These days unique films are rare. It seems few filmmakers even try to do anything outside the norm. This movie is outside the norm, and for that reason alone I may have rated it higher than I should have - but damn if I didn't enjoy it.

Had some funny parts and I thought it looked funnier in the previews.

Has some decent moments. A few little chuckles. This is just another indie, quirky, hipster comedy that is amusing to some degree but also a little lifeless.

This is a funny comedy with numerous funny characters. It is nice to see Michael Cera trying something a little different, with the alter ego persona. There are a lot of great funny supporting performances, Fred Willard really stands out.

Cera was great as the violent, chainsmoking maquereau François. The definitely masculine portrayal of that character added depth to the otherwise very Cera beta male protagonist. It hints at a fuller range than we're used to from the C-Man, but not a memorable film. Weak writing, I suspect. Every character is strong but none of them seem to stick around for very long, so it's a little jarring. Even Cera's love interest suffers this fate. Hell, even the dog vanishes. Definitely watchable though.

It wasn't bad, but I found the music to be very distracting and not conducive to the tone the rest of the movie was giving me. I also heard is was different than other Michael Cera generic films, but not really. It needed badass Cera more and less normal Cera. Gets a solid meh. Don't seek it out, but you will probably enjoy it if its there.
