A sweet film. The animation is stunning and the music very atmospherical.

Yes, I do think this is better than 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Nice animation, sometimes genuinly scary

Everytime time a see a Former Soviet Union animation that includes a little forest animal, I'm hypnotised by the quality of animation and also by the that strange atmosphere.

So cute, reminds me of the game called Limbo!

Such a wide range of emotions. As I have seen it numerous times right from when I can remember myself, it became something personal.

Probably my favorite piece of animation after Frederic Back's wonderful The Man Who Planted Trees. Norstein includes an extensive range of emotions throughout the film, from the playfulness of the early moments to the terror of being lost in the fog, and finally to the resignation of never finding his way home. Yet what I most love is the sense of mystery and beauty that pervades the world of the hedgehog, particularly in the scenes with the tree and in the river. An absolutely wonderful film.

Great art style...the dark, roughly-textured animals contrasted against the soft, dreamlike fog is eye-popping.

A hedgehog gets existential on his trip to foil Dr. Robotnick's evil schemes.

What an intense short.

This flick has a real sense of mystery and the animation lends itself well to that. You always want to know what he's going to see next, there are a few moments of intrigue and beauty (like the tree), and I even laughed a couple times.

Absolutely lovely piece of animation. The different animals were neat and I laughed out loud at the bear at the end.
