Indubitably well done in numerous respects, but this viewer could only get so interested in the result, as though the filmmaker were more preoccupied with demonstrating his technical virtuosity to the audience than actually inspired by the themes of the source material. Nevertheless, very fine animation, that will no doubt please connoisseurs of the medium.

Esthetically stunning, this is more an illustration then adaptaion of the prose. Don't expect a coherent story, come armed with the knowledge of the book, and prepare yourself for a wonderful sequence of pictures portraying perfectly the atmosphere of mixing reality and delirium.
