A long forgotten film brought back up for me thanks to the internet, the problem with it is that, with brief flashes of interesting filmmaking, the director does not try to make something that is actually profound. He is content with dull moments of actors standing around speaking empty obscurities rather than trying to weave difficult images and dialogue together that have a meaning to them. It's a hell of a lot more interesting than many critically praised films, but it's a struggle.
