typing "the cat in the hat" has two hits, but neither are "Dr. seuss' the cat in the hat" (the one with mike myers)

typing "john leguazamo" which is a typo, doesn't hit "John Leguizamo" on the initial page, but "al st. john" "dr. john" and "john wayne" as the first three hits which are substantially different from "John Leguizamo".

another problem with compound words, typing "white out" doesn't give a hit for "whiteout"

glad to see some work has been accomplished on this subject, the movie beetlejuice hits even if typed as "beetle juice".

1. EDIT: some plural versions of words are quite different from their singular versions, such as "ghost story" and "ghost stories" perhaps find a way to hit the actual movie "ghost story" which is fred astaire's last movie as well as the two that have "ghost stories" in their titles.

2. EDIT: typing "arachnaphobia" gives the hit of only one movie which is "eight legged freaks", "arachnophobia" however gives a direct hit to the movie starring jeff daniels. there is only one letter in difference.

3. EDIT: typing "twenty eight days later" gives a hit of "28 days later" as third after two other movies that aren't as similar.

4. EDIT: typing "sweeny todd" gives a hit for "sweeney todd" after "zombie rampage".

5. EDIT: the typo "independance day"--only one letter off doesn't hit for the one with will smith.

6. EDIT: typing "oh, god!" gives a hit for the '77 movie only after 22 other movies.

Typing in 'the informant' without the exclamation point only returns the 1997 film, and not the 2009 film, 'The Informant!'

Yeah, we're making progress slowly but surely on improving the search... thanks for continuing to update us on these problems... it helps to have a lot of examples, when we dive into work.

Typing in 'the bow' doesn't bring up Ki-duk Kim's 'Hwal' aka 'The Bow'

When I type "The Wall" it takes me straight to "The Burning Wall" page (I was searching for Pink Floyd's film which obviously is on Criticker too).

if you type in "8 1/2" fellini's movie comes second, after something completely different, if you type "eight and a half" it's not there at all.
