Blood Father

Post by Stewball »

Unexpected gem of a movie. Action and dialogue in an intense story interspersed with some sharp humor. Gibson's never been better and Moriarity is the catalyst that makes it all work. 9/10

Is it anything like Get the Gringo then?

Haven't seen it. Most so-called action movies are so one dimensional, it's hard to find something to compare it to. Gladiator maybe, but that's on the other end of the spectacle scale--lavish vs. grime. FWIW, this is rated relatively low by IMDb and R/T audiences, but 87 by R/T critics, and I'm usually closer to the audience opinions. Go figger.

Might be worth checking it out if low-key Mel Gibson actioners are appealing to you. I really quite enjoyed it.

Yeah, just watched it; it was like a warmup for BF. Biggest differences, intensity, Moriarty and the ending.
