CONAN THE BARBARIAN - 'The Bloody First Scene'

Postby nathanlehe on Mon Aug 29, 2011 3:44 pm

Another Red Band clip released for Conan. Anyone who didn't catch it, see below:

I think it looks awesome personally. Every piece of content I've seen so far, I have liked better than the last.
And this clip is definitely the best thing they released so far.
If this is what Conan is doing as a kid, I can't f'ing wait to see what goes down when he is grown up.
Absolutely badass. I will most definitely be seeing Conan come Aug 19.

The Conan actor was great in Game of Thrones so the fact that he's in it has me interested. Although I can't imagine you can top Arnold

nathanlehe was so excited about Conan he jumped forward in time to make his post.

and Pickpocket, Jason Momoa was the only decent thing about the movie, t'was pretty bad and I REALLY wanted to love it.

A lot of my friends asked me whether I was going to see this one, since I love the original (one of my 10-15 favorite films ever) and have seen it no fewer than 80 times from the time I was 8 years old to the present day.

I told them I refuse to even look at the trailer.

I did, and it was a very good review.

However, even if people had been praising, instead of unanimously excoriating the remake, I still would have had zero interest in seeing a second of it. The one piece of solace I take is that the movie was a horrific box office disaster, losing many tens of millions of dollars.

yeah, you won't have to worry about another sequel, that's for sure.

I knew there was no way this particular remake would ever turn a profit, so that was never a concern.

However, if remakes in general start to loose oodles of money, instead of losing a few million/breaking even, then who knows, studios might actually start financing some legitimate films for a change? (Or adaptations of old children's cartoons, bleh...)
