Indeed. As long as Nero gets to kill some folks I'll be happy :P

Stewball, you actually liked Zellweger in Appaloosa? I'm not against conniving female characters on principle, but that movie sets up both the protagonist and the antagonist to fall so hard for her that they both end up doing incredibly stupid things. And Zellweger plays her as less "conniving" and more "totally insane and slutty" (which seemed so wrong in the frumpy period attire she was in)...so my mind just boggled that she could make anyone, let alone the two most powerful men in town, into such retarded lovesick puppy dogs.

And Jorg, Broken Trail does look pretty good, I added it to my list :)

Pathetic fanboys that ride Tarantino's dick? Really?

Why do people have to go to such extreme, such hostile accusations?

Is this the new trend among youth or smth? That there is no way to express your view/objection in a civil way?

If there is anyone who thinks QT is disgustingly overrated, it's me, but I can't agree with the quote above. While the Kill Bill series was hot garbage and "Death Proof" is one of the shittiest excuses for a film I have ever seen, Basterds was an excellent film.

In fact, I like Basterds more than either "Pulp Fiction" or "Reservoir Dogs", two good movies that were overhyped by fanboys far more heavily.

Jorg wrote:Personally I'm expecting that it will be an entertaining western, but nothing close to Leone or early QT quality.

Early QT quality? "Reservoir Dogs" was a re-make of Ringo Lam's "City on Fire" that had terrific acting but wasn't as good as the original. "Pulp Fiction" was very good; a fun collage of various movies and series QT loves mashed into something neat and original...but there are plenty of dumb sequences and eye-rolling, insipid dialogue.

Basterds was easily his best script, with his best dialogue, and is probably as original as anything he has done outside of Pulp Fiction.

I'm looking forward to Django Unchained.

If T1-T5 is considered to be mediocre or below and T6+ is considered to be above mediocre, then around 90% of the criticker population would fit into "overhyped fanboy of tarantino" description. Check out the ratings for Basterds.

Movie looks strangely artificial and doesn't really excite me that much
