Movie-Specific : The Man with the Iron Fists

Just read this article and didn't see a thread on the RZA's directorial debut set to release later this year, so I figured I'd make one. Being a huge fan of Wu-Tang and kung fu, naturally I've been anticipating this film like crazy since the day it was announced. Hasn't been much info on it at all. No posters or trailers or production stills or anything really. This article just got me even more pumped.

Sounds like it all came together quite well. I really enjoyed the past "Quentin Tarantino presents" kung fu flicks (Iron Monkey, Hero, The Protector), and it should be interesting to see how RZA handles film as a medium.

Any thoughts? Anyone else excited to check this out?

Not really a fan of RZA's music, but I can respect the man's obvious love for old school kung fu.

I'll probably check this out, the cast looks interesting...and if that article can be trusted, no shaky cam is always a plus in an action flick.

hm, I see an awful lot of CGI in that trailer including CGI blood.

The cast looks pretty cool though, I think that was ex-WWE wrestler Batista in the metal suit. The sets/costumes look great and production values in general are a lot higher than I was expecting to see.

Lets go with "cautiously optimistic".

The production values are higher than I expected, too. And yeah, that's the former pro-wrestler Dave Batista playing the supposed "Brass Body." Should be interesting, bit of a colorful cast.

I had the same concerns regarding all the computer generated shit we saw. Hoping RZA would do a little throw back to the old Shaw Bros kung-fu he's into and let the martial arts do the talking, minus all the CGI, but we'll see how it turns out. And like Pickpocket said, this is gonna be badass, and I'm probably going to enjoy the hell out of it just for the RZA doing his thing no matter how good or bad it ends up.
