I'm a communist that misses living in Texas. What are your thoughts on this combination?
Nothing beats spicy southwestern food.
Maybe we can find common ground in our love for burritos?

Burritos all use pasty flour tortillas. Corn is where the flavor and texture is--e.g. tacos, enchiladas, nachos....Tamales! As for a commie missing Texas....probably only because you want to socialize it like all y'all North'ren carpetbaggers coming south to screw up those states like the ones you're escaping from. Socialist blind faith is nothing but theocratic blind faith re-branded. (Huuahh).

Fairly typical liberal hypocrisy, actually.
I once went on a date with an uber-liberal feminist who went on a hysterical rant (15 minutes after telling me she hated discussing politics on a first date!) about how Romney would create a society subjugating women similar to Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale and recited a Sylvia Plath line about how she didn't ever want to have children because it meant a parasite living inside of her.
And then, with a straight face, she told me she missed living in Texas, because the men there treated her courteously, even opened doors for her, while guys in California were largely douchebags.
Like most liberals, she didn't notice any problems or inconsistencies there.

Looks more like a problem being rational than just mere inconsistencies. Thanks for the early morning wake upyuk. Did you turn around and courteously open the car door for her so as to deposit her back at what I'm sure you now realize were the gates of hell/the asylum where you picked her up? Or did you watch a movie together first? I could think of a few choice titles, The Brave One (look at that, she's her own woman and she believes in the Second Amendment), or this gem:

Guys in California mostly are douchebags. Well, at least in SoCal, which is one of the worst places in the US outside of the deep south. Northern California is great, though.
I'm not sure what you are, because I rarely visit the criticker forums, but if that's you in your avatar, the Affliction wearing bro, I should probably just stop posting...

This is getting mean-spirited. I am going to leave the forums now. Goodbye, lovers.

She was talking about Northern California, where we both lived.

That's professional fighter Mauricio "Shogun" Rua (I know, a difficult deduction given my username). He is as accurate a representation of my looks as your avatar is of you. Well okay, yours is probably pretty close...

Watched it on small screen. Damn me, should have made it to the cinema. I don't have much to contribute to what has already been said. As a vfx artist take my word, this movie sets a bar so high that you won't be seeing anything similar frequently. I can always appreciate the quality of craft in big budget movies. On Gravity it's not simply high quality craft, there is a lot of innovation and creativity that goes into the workflow. This in itself is raison d'etre for the movie. For anyone interested in the particulars
