I don't follow boxing at all, but I love a good boxing movie. These are my favorites, not just for their boxing sequences (some times in spite of them), but for the overall movie.
1. Undisputed
2. Cinderella Man
3. Rocky
4. Hurricane, The
5. Million Dollar Baby
6. Resurrecting the Champ
7. Raging Bull
I just finished watching Raging Bull for the first time which is what triggered this post. I was disappointed. It was really slow and drawn out in places and I just don't enjoy watching people being stupid, but it still made the cut--barely.
For the many that haven't seen Undisputed, all of the performances are eyes glued to the screen fascinating, and I'd give the golden glove for the best performance in a boxing movie ever to Peter Falk for his portrayal of the incarcerated boxing expert, mover and shaker, Mendy Ripstein.
