When I started this thread four years ago, my relationship with avgcrtckr was as follows:
Avgcrtckr films ranked: approx. 1400 My films ranked: not recorded Films in common: 647 TCI: 1.7372 My 6th closest user.
Avgcrtckr films ranked: 14335 (ten times as many) My films ranked: 3582 Films in common: 2547 (1900 more) TCI: 2.0271 My 227th closest user.
As it currently stands, user avgcrtckr's Tier 10 extends from scores of 72 to scores of 89, i.e., from average tiers of 7.2 to 8.9 (the latter for Harakiri, followed by The Godfather at 8.8, and The Godfather: Part II and High and Low, both at 8.7), whereas Tier 1 extends from 11 to 29.
It might also be interesting to know who are the users closest to avgcrtckr.
Ok, it seems like it's a good time for an update. The top 10 "most average criticker users" are: #1 0.6731 MrHallenbeck, 1471 films in common #2 0.7625 sinabsinthe, 859 films in common #3 0.7707 pmcatra, 1579 films in common #4 0.7732 karabe, 538 films in common #5 0.7745 RYM, 838 films in common #6 0.7791 Frankenstein, 765 films in common #7 0.7833 extreme87 , 1135 films in common #8 0.8003 Richieao10, 606 films in common #9 0.8106 Elekoise, 3068 films in common #10 0.8189 martryn, 1629 films in common
My 1000th TCI usually has a PCI around 1.47-1.48 (as of now 1.4777) My films in common minimum is 3% (430 films), although I have occasionally changed it over time. I only include big screen films that have at least 50 rankings. I leave out TV, music documentaries and stand ups solely for personal reasons (sorry about that). I had mentioned elsewhere, I have two other large compound lists: filmaffinity (the average scores of filmaffinity.com) and dramat, a metameta list (a list of lists). I think you can't compare your ratings vs avgcrtckr just because crticker admins don't let you do that for users more than 10k ratings (due to technical complexities, I suppose). Any other questions or comments? May you all watch the greatest films.
Congratulations to MrHallenbeck for being the averagest member of this website, for to be averagest in such fine company is perhaps not a bad thing. He is my 98th closest user, whereas avgcrtckr's second closest, sinabsinthe, does not make it into my top 1000. Such are the vagaries of the algorithm.

this is just the average ratings from rateyourmusic btw. makes sense that they'd be similar, there's plenty of overlap between those two sites in terms of userbase.

it's not super surprising given that avgcrtckr is an aggregate of the generic canon. i only have one user lower than that 1.4-1.5 range, everyone else is 1.7+
