So, I was just about to shill for Criticker on some political subforum, but found it difficult to make a persuasive argument as sending them here would mean they are here on their own. This difficulty to 'unionize' with ease has probably lead to quite a few people to stop using Criticker, with a past example being the folk coming here from reddit.com/r/truefilm often leaving shortly after they made an account. Requiring users to largely start over and having to integrate into the Criticker community might have been too great of a hurdle.

The reason why I think this might be a reasonable suggestion is because of there already existing significant infrastructure built for the Kumple system. The idea would be to have the same page as the current Kumple page: https://www.criticker.com/?k, but then switch it with 'community page'. You'd be able to instantly find all other users that are part of your former community, or if a community is based on some interest, find users with that same interest.

Ideally, but this would be probably a feature on its own, users would be able to see either the average rankings of that community/ your current set of kumpels, or, if that requires too much computing power, see what the top 100 films are according to those groups. Right now users are able to get Kumple recommendations for movies they have not yet seen, but some display as described above might be of greater interest.

Thanks for the suggestion... that might be a good way for users to identify each other with more ease, and could also provide a platform for users with similar interests to build a little community on our site.

We'll add it to our ideas. Thanks again!

Personally, I like this idea because it encourages more activity within the community and it'll be interesting to hear what people have to say on a variety of topics.

As it is now, the forum is dead. The community could use something to garner more interest.
