I'm also adding a +1 to this idea.
So far I haven't seen any reasonable argument for not adding this feature.

This isn't the only film recommendation site, and personally I don't really feel like entering 100's of movies to every service I try. I was told by a mate to check out this site, and by making things easier for people, they are more likely to actually use the service and experience it - and get hooked!

More to the point, many other competitors sites have implemented this feature, eg. filmaster.com

Seems like a no brainer to me... ;)

Also +1 for the IMDB import idea. I think it might determine the future of this site.

I'll add my support for that as well. I would love to be able to just transfer in my ratings. As for not stating the I* word; well, it remains "he who must not be named"!?

Lol, don't mind old Radicalo posts, he was just a forum clown left sometime ago. All of his posts was mockery and misinformation.

I just thought considering this to be a film site, I'd update the non-name to modern times. We all know who "he who must not be named" is.
On a serious note, it would be a great feature to have a dump import script for IMDB ratings.

Smack talk about IMDB but no import function? I have over 1,900 movies rated there and on MovieLens. I've manually moved almost 200 here. It is taking too much time so I'm done. Sure Criticker is free and I appreciate that, but so are those two which (are but) shall not be named. :)
Importing a csv file isn't difficult, matching titles is. But I bet 99% of your titles match up with IMDB, and for those that don't, give us an exception report and let us tweak our CSV file or add the rest manually. It doesn't have to work 100%, add a disclaimer and tell us that we are venturing into deep waters and there is no lifeguard.
I'm looking forward to adding my listings to Criticker!

I'd love to see this feature as well. I'm a newbie who's facing the daunting task of having to individually rank thousands of films that I already have ranked on IMDb. And as has been pointed out, other sites (icheckmovies is another one) use this feature.
