Reviews:

"A truly brave debut, this is a frantic ride that has so many twists and turns, both in terms of camera movement and the very confusing narrative, that it is really hard to follow or make any sense of. Modern expressionist cinema that reflects a fucked up view of a fucked up world, or something like that."
-KAH

"The world as reflected in a nightmare...Through throbbing cinematography and oddly elegant editing, Zulawski express the main character's agony and confusion. He may overwhelm us with an image of a hopeless world, but the thoughtful, poignant - and very artificial - dialogue imply a search for something. This is not a film for those who dislike "theatrical" dialogue and narrative vertigo, but rewarding for fans of roaring existentialism with creative, energetic direction and menacing surrealism."

I saw Pieces in Hollywood last Halloween at the Egyptian theatre and the whole audience was laughing hysterically. Some of the gore is pretty nasty, but the dialogue and situations are so ridiculous that it's hard to take the violence seriously. The "Bastards!" scene should be considered a classic of overacting.

Haha, Pieces was amazing. The mystery and suspense were practically nonexistent, and for a while i thought it was nothing special - but then came a bunch of extremely WTF scenes. The first and last couple of minutes especially make it a classic.

Oh and this:

I was reading about it on KG and the guy was like if you don't like excessive gore, don't watch this. So I was like okay, I don't like that but that scene made me change my mind. I love terrible acting so much.

I just watched Pieces. It was kind of a slog, but reading people's reactions/re-watching clips is totally making my night.

What was up with the stretcher? Would they really have brought out a stretcher for.. pieces?
I found that even funnier than detective of the year's question to prof. Brown.
This forearm might still make it!

No idea how to rate it.

Third Part of the Night is on its way. 8-)
