Well, hell, I'm glad you asked. Went back to watch it again and couldn't find it, and the ones there do look interesting--except that its the first of a trilogy and she's wearing TWO nose rings. Don't know what I was looking at, but it was machinegunning dialogue/subtitles, and they were red, not the gray I just watched and no action to speak of and it wasn't as professional??? Must've spazzed out with the mouse or something, I dunno.

Guess I'm back on.

Oh shit, I just couldn't help myself and got political. And I'd been doing so good too.

uh k

I had high hopes for MacGruber since I was a huge MacGyver fan in the 80s... but after that trailer I'm gonna steer well clear. When the trailer's punchline is a deadpan poop joke (which I'm pretty sure I've heard in another movie in the last 5 years), that is the sign of a comedian who is truly scraping the bottom of the barrel.

It's stupid, shameless and kind of vile, but I really enjoyed myself with this movie. Was definitely more consistent that Hot Rod, though probably not as funny. Some of the gags in this movie are hilarious though. ("Why did Cunth kill your wife?" "To this day I have no idea...")

If you love big dumb 80s action movies, you'll probably enjoy this. It's not high art or anything, but it entertained me. If I'd paid full price I might not be as enthusiastic about it, but on a $5 Tuesday it was definitely worthwhile.

Saw this a couple of hours ago, really not as bad as you say. You sound incredibly uptight, this was obviously meant to be stupid as shit and they succeeded in that regard.

It's one thing what the people on this forum think, but Filthy has just weighed in with his thoughts on the movie, and believes it was complete bullshit. I'll take his word for it. He's relatively accurate when it comes to comedies.

Almost any criticism of this movie is going to be accurate because it is such low brow trashy humor and objectively terrible. That said, it's a good movie to see with a group of friends and isn't meant to be taken as seriously as some are taking it.

The only positive thing you can say about MacGrouber is that at least it was an inspiration for columns like Filthy's, which was very funny. And he's sort of right that it's worse than Austin Powers or the Pink Panther (Sellers' or Martin's), but the difference IMNTBHO is only like from zero to a one.

It's hard to not be embarrassed for them when you realize that obviously several people thought that shit was actually funny.

You may think he's accurate, but his review is terrible. But, having seen MacGruber, I can tell you that it's not nearly as bad as people say. I didn't have much hope for it, but it surprised me. It was a decent comedy, but not one that you need to see in theatres.

This thing needs to be buried with a stake of celery in its heart--and we all know where that would be located.
