Yes because replying to you in the same thread is stalking.

Anyway, I saw it again yesterday, and it definitely held up on a second viewing, so there is rewatch value to it. And yeah, I guess Saito is pretty badass for surviving all that.

Saito might well have been the most badass character, but I was most impressed by that "cocky British dude", who had the best performance out of the entire cast. Afterwards, a friend informed me that his name was Tom Hardy, and he is considered one of the best younger actors in the world today, with excellent performances in Bronson, Layer Cake, and RocknRolla. (None of which I have seen yet)

I'm sure most people in this topic already knew that, but I'm real curious about checking out more of Hardy's work now.

RockNRolla is quite good and Tom Hardy has a hilarious scene with Gerard Butler in it.

Yeah, I'm a huge fan of Guy Ritchie's style, but haven't sat down and watched the entire film yet.

Saw this movie, was stunned, thought I loved it, thought about it. The more I thought, the more I realised it was almost as pretentious as a Lars von Trier movie, and my ultimate verdict is this:
A pretty basic and dumb movie pretending to be clever.

2 great articles that express my problems with the movie, namely the plot and the 2dimensional characters.

Very true. However, I still loved it in spite of this.

Nothing to be in spite of. People can't or won't decode it so they blow it off.

I watched this on the big screen when it was released. Great film. Had me thinking throughout and the ending left me with more questions than answers. Need to give it a second viewing but that will reinforce my view that it is excellent.

Me? I loved it. The action was slick/sick and although character development can be lacking, when you're being mind-fucked at such a degree, who cares? It's like being on a roller coaster ride and complaining that the person sitting in front have a poor taste in fashion.

The way I see it, the main point of the first post is that TS disliked the film and the fact that it is popular among many amplified his dislike to a feeling of blinding fury.
