Actors' faces you mixed up when you were a kid

Postby by Devol on Sun Jul 17, 2011 4:05 pm

And I'm talkin, like, from an under-12 perspective, back in the late '70's, which won't apply to a lot of people reading this. (so, you'll have to come up with your own, later-on, mix ups). This perspective also means that most of these are a bit of a stretch.......

Claude Akins/Simon Oakland (obscure, but DEAD ON separated at birth)
Gary Busey/Nick Nolte
Steve McQueen/Paul Newman
James Coburn/Lee Marvin
that whole De Niro/Pacino/Hoffman thing, and then later - Pacino/Andy Garcia

and more towards late 80s/early 90s -
Joe Mantegna/Chaz Palminteri
Uma Thurman and Drew Barrymore should play sisters in a film

I know theere's more that temporarily escape me.

My friends and I used to call Mark Wahlberg "that-guy-who-looks-like-Matt-Damon"

Funny you mention McConaughey, or as I call him, the less talented Bradley Cooper.

hahaha, i was just thinking of this the other day... i remember always mixing people up, for example

Joseph Gordon-Levitt (3rd rock guy)

Shia LaBeouf (Transformers guy)

but once they start acting, i can tell them apart; i think Joseph has a more mellow delivery while Shia is a bit forceful.

I always used to think Roy Scheider and Lance Henriksen were the same guy, I dunno why... they don't look that similar.

whoa - quite uncanny - those two.

I almost see a little bit of the Tilleys in them, too, especially Adams.

Yeah, Claude Akins/Simon Oakland definitely has caused me problems (and heck, I still mix em up!). Also you can throw Ross Martin in there...admittedly if shown their pix all at once I can distinguish them, but they all have that same basic square-faced look.

Also Kent Smith/Laurence Olivier are ringers for each other.

Then of course there's the Richard Kiel/Ted Cassidy thing.
