However, averages calculated this way make no sense. They should be calculated by averaging Tier Points like how PSIs are.
I have written about this here - viewtopic.php?f=8&t=2654&p=26529

Okay, so let's try that:
Actor - (Avg. Score / Avg. Tier) - #
John Cusack - (92.30 / 8.50) - 10
Bruce Willis - (84.80 / 7.10) - 10
Tim Robbins - (80.10 / 6.90) - 10
Bill Murray - (83.08 / 7.00) - 12
Joan Cusack - (81.64 / 6.73) - 11 (from Toy Story 2 to Toys)
Steve Buscemi - (81.80 / 6.60) - 10
Brad Pitt - (83.44 / 6.56) - 16
Winona Ryder - (82.90 / 6.20) - 10
Geoffrey Rush - (79.30 / 5.90) - 10
Gene Hackman - (82.40 / 5.80) - 10

Did you calculate this manually? Is there an easy way to do it?
Did you do it for all actors you have seen 10 or more films or only the ones you think will fall into the top 10?

Fairly interesting list. I guess I really do have something against pre-'70s films.

Harry Dean Stanton 85.27 (11)
John Hurt 79.62 (13)
Harrison Ford 78.71 (14)
Robert De Niro 78.55 (20)
Jack Nicholson 78.07 (14)
Julianne Moore 77.20 (10)
Ian Holm 76.75 (12)
Al Pacino 75.60 (15)
Brad Pitt 75.38 (16)
Willem Dafoe 75.08 (12)

Bottom 10:

John Travolta 47.36 (11)
Adam Sandler 50.64 (14)
Arnold Schwarzenegger 51.71 (17)
Sylvester Stallone 52.75 (20)
Jack Black 53.18 (11)
Frank Welker 55.20 (20)
Ben Affleck 56.36 (11)
Don Cheadle 57.50 (10)
John Turturro 58.70 (10) -- Transformers and Mr. Deeds have really done a number on him
Val Kilmer 61.50 (10)

1. Matt Damon - 87.08 (12)
2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt - 84.09 (11)
3. David Cross - 83.5 (10)
4. Tom Hanks - 81.67 (15)
5. Bill Murray - 81.58 (19)
6. George Clooney - 80.38 (13)
7. Dustin Hoffman - 79.71 (17)
8. Christopher Plummer - 78.75 (12)
9. Philip Baker Hall - 78 (10)
10. Michael Caine - 77.89 (19)

Looking over my list it for the most part makes sense, with the exception of Philip Baker Hall. I have no idea how he got on there.
