Yeah, it would have to come from admin (ahem), with the thread pinned to to top of the forum for the duration. I'd certainly be willing to tally the results if that's the holdup.

Clooney is currently favored to win and I just can't see it happening since he already has one and his performance, while good, wasn't exactly mind blowing. Haven't seen The Artist or TTSS but I like the odds at 4:1 and 50:1, especially considering that The Artist is pretty much favored to win everrything else and Gary Oldman doesn't have an Oscar. Anyone got any insight

That seems like a decent play, yeah.

However, I typically like to bet on favorites that should be even heavier favorites than they currently are. As such, I feel there are several other opportunities to make money this year...

I like doing this too but from what I've seen the "shoe ins," if you will, have odds that aren't even worth the risk. Meryl Streep was -5000 last time I checked and the competition for best actress is (finally) decent for once. I just ended up hedging on the best actor, the worst I can do is break even. Unless, of course, Clooney wins.

In another blow to me having any interest on watching the Oscars, the best song nominees will not be performing. So no, no muppets on stage singing.

You don't think Viola Davis for Best Actress is a strong play? She's 5/7 on Bodog, which seems a little low. As for Streep, where are you getting her at -5000? She's 11/10 on Bodog, 2nd behind Davis. (so less than -100, even)

Odds for both Best Picture and Best Director are solid. I wouldn't put any money into those two.

(And yes, I know Bodog sucks, but my regular sportsbook doesn't have Oscar betting, sadly)

Apparently I've been living a sheltered life. I had no idea that people bet on the Oscars....let alone that bookies gave out odds for them.

Heh. Nowadays, there are sites offering odds for the National Spelling Bee.

I recall that the odds for the winner wearing glasses were 50/50.

Neither, you should probably bet on glasses. Odds are pretty good.

I honestly don't even know who Viola Davis is. I think the Streep stuff was inflated (I meant to type -500 btw). Odds for Dujardin have changed, he's now favored to win. Glad I got money in when he was +400 cause he seems like a lock to me.

You use sportsbook? They have Oscar betting on there.
