It's definitely a kid's show but, man, it might be the best kid's show I've ever seen. Definitely worth watching, regardless of age, especially if your only experience with the story is that oatmeal-abortion movie.

Agree 100%

I just watched the full series on DVD after having started a couple of years ago but never finishing it. Kinda kiddy with the moral lessons and non-lethal violence, but the martial arts/elemental magic and animation are both really excellent. I also like the large cast of likable characters and how they all manage to make an appearance in the final battle at the end of the series.

Just avoid the damn movie.

You guys know there's a sequel series coming out soon, right?

Also, I'd like to add Justified (if it hasn't already been mentioned) and another kiddy show I just got into: Adventure Time.

Came across "Key and Peele" looking for a fun show to watch. These guys have great chemisty and some good laid back humor. Hope this doesn't spawn any conservatist vs. liberal discussion that plagues the forums these days.

There's one skit in particular where Peele does Obama giving an address while Key plays his insanely amped-up, jive-talkin aide......Bonkers. That right leg kick he does over Peele's head was one truly awesome fucking manouvre. I thought they were pretty good in Mad TV too.

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" might not be everyone's cup'o hooch - pretty dark humored, and sometimes, like - whoa - really pushin it. I thought the first three seasons, overall, were better than the next three, despite there being lots of gems in the latter, especially the kitten mittens episode. And I like how that lawyer starts gleefully fucking them over in the latter seasons. Not the biggest De Vito fan, but works well here as a foil to four very upbeat crazies - all of them total megawatt comic dynamos.
recommended if you're in that mood for a "Cheers" from hell.
a bemused, deflated Anne Archer wearing a red clown nose - priceless.

Why are British Sitcoms short lived as compared to American Ones?

Something like The 70's show has 200 episodes. Compare that to Fawlty Towers which I think is funniest thing every made - a grand total of 12 episodes.

Coupling - Total 28 episodes. I thought the first 3 seasons were brilliant.

Office - Total 14 episodes - the American one has finished 176 episodes and still going on.

Yes Minister + Yes, Prime Minister - IMHO, The final word on political comedy - total 38 episodes.

These are some of my favourite sitcoms and it sucks that there aren't more episodes.

Is there a British law or something which restricts the number of seasons/episodes?

no, the Brits just know how to not ruin a good thing via overexposure. Fawlty Towers wouldn't have been as brilliant if they had stretched out the concept for 100 episodes....they would've just gotten formulaic and repetitive....you know, like most long running American sitcoms. ;)

British sitcoms are generally written by one or two people. American sitcoms are written by committee.

Of course, it's possible that those great sitcoms wouldn't have been as great if the writers were expected to crank out 30 per season rather than six.

Speaking of British sitcoms, I quite enjoyed Peep Show as well.

As far as British sitcoms go I'm surprised no one has brought up The It Crowd. That is by far my favorite. I also like Snuff Box which wasn't mentioned either.

I think 5 seasons totaling 100 episodes is the perfect amount. NewsRadio had the perfect run. Not too short, not too long, and consistently funny throughout. As much as I love a show like Scrubs the 9th season was totally uncalled for. Also the 7th season was cut short due to the writers strike and the 8th season probably benefited because of that.
