I think I haven't heard of 70% of the stuff on the page(both the good and the bad), so it's a good reference.

Had never heard of 'The Thick of it'. Need to see if I can find it. If it's anywhere near Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister quality, it should be worth it.

Other recos
- Coupling (first 3 seasons)
- Shield
- 24 (some seasons are good & some are awful)

Why isn't Fawlty Towers there - though you have mentioned it in comparison with other serials?

Dishonourable Mentions I agree with - Little Britain. I found it to be terrible.

As with most insanely large, all-encompassing lists, there is a lot I agree with, and a lot I disagree with.

Sure, Death Note is awesome. (Although there are a few anime I would rate even higher) And yeah, Friends was garbage.

However, in what universe is the overrated US version of The Office better than the Gervais original?

Also, Elfen Lied is probably the worst, dumbest shit I have seen in any medium; cartoon, television, or movie. It represents almost everything lousy about anime.

Seinfeld, Peep Show, Adventure Time.

Not a fiction (scripted) TV person, but I have time for those.

I must watch Lain and Twin Peaks.

I wouldn't say it's better(and it's definitely worse from season 4 on) but it reached more people and had more than 13 episodes which I think explains why people list the US version before the British version. Being a big fan of both I do have to say though, the US version should have quit while they were ahead. I'd even argue I liked up through season 6 but now the show is like a whale that started to dive without closing its blowhole. It just started filling with water and knows that its about to die, but holds on to every last second of life as it slowly does a deathspin for miles down to the bottom of the ocean.

My Top 20

1. The Sopranos
Twin Peaks
The Wire
The Simpsons
Father Ted
Seinfeld
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Q.I.
Fawlty Towers
The Office (UK)
Arrested Development
Band of Brothers
13. South Park
Peep Show
Mad Men
Monty Python's Flying Circus
Later....with Jools Holland
Paths to Freedom
Frasier
Spaced

At some stage I plan to at least try watching Deadwood, Buffy, The West Wing, and Entourage amongst others.

P.S. I completely disagree with your views on Spain. On form they are the most thrilling team to play in my lifetime, but I won't turn this into a football forum.

Here are my favorite tv shows of all time.

Scrubs - My absolute favorite.

The rest are in no particular order. I tried to narrow it down to a top 10 or even top 15 but I simply couldn't do it. I couldn't even attempt to rank them (probably could, but I just don't have the time right now).

Boston Legal
Seinfeld
M*A*S*H*
Whose Line Is It Anyway
The Wire
Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip
The IT Crowd
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Archer
IFC's Greg The Bunny
Community
Party Down
NewsRadio
The Wonder Years
Freaks & Geeks
Bored to Death

I still need to watch: Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Boss, and The West Wing. I'm pretty well versed in American sitcoms (of the past 20 years mostly) but I need to get caught up on British ones.

deadwood got cancelled to be fair lol. well documented that twin peaks loses its way a little in season 2 though, sadly.

re: the fawlty towers question, i reiterate: HONOURABLE MENTIONS (hardly an extensive list, just stuff that's coming to mind). fawlty towers is one of my top 3 britcoms ever though.

the thick of it is very different to yes minister but i see it as a worthy successor. :)

funnier, once it became its own beast anyway. i'm a sucker for anything that juvenile, hah. i'm not too passionate about this though really, the british one was way more innovative and unique and influential etc, plus i loved pre-crap gervais in general.

re: elfen lied, each to their own (but your own sucks!)
