Friday The 13th remake trailer released

Postby Jeb on Thu Oct 23, 2008 12:22 am

As a fan of the original, I felt like posting this. It was not a good idea to make Jason run, and so far, this looks terrible.

Without having seen the original (yeah, I know..), that looks damn bad. I'd like to see this for the unintentional comedy.

What is it with there being remakes of these slasher movies at the moment? It's like as if they think they can start a fresh and automatically make the series decent again.

Agreed, and it gets even worse. There's going to be a Child's Play remake ( ) and a planned Nightmare on Elm Street reboot. What's next: Saw? Scream? Hostel? This all makes me sick. :x

A Child's Play remake sounds horrible, but a Nightmare on Elm Street remake was to be expected really seeing as they seem to be working their way through the major franchises. It's still probably going to be as equally bad though.

A Saw remake actually wouldn't surprise me as the current "series" is quickly dragging the franchise into a complete dead end. I can still see there being a Saw VI and possibly another after that though before any thoughts of a remake or reimagining.

i think a remake could definately sit well with the audiences of today. and the running, we all know that anyone who had a brain in their head could have gotten away from the lumbering, casual gait of the jason of yesteryear.

How dare they ruin the original and try and commercialize that film even more, which is already as overrated as a horror film can get. The original was a flawed film there is no doubt about that, but it was also a rather brilliant, incredibly suspenseful, terrifying and atmospheric horror classic - but judging from this remake's trailer, it looks like absolute shit. Michael Bay genuinely cannot tell the difference between "genuine scares" and "gore", and to date his only worth film is "The Amityville Horror", which was actually one of the scariest movies I've seen. Bay needs to resign, and even if he didn't direct this particular film, his movies are just absolutely terrible.
