Maybe you shouldn't be posting on a forum since you can't handle confrontation at all. Sorry for questioning the almighty views you have on movies, even when they are factually wrong and stupid. I didn't realize the great Maxwell was akin to a prophet and His word was gold. Maybe you should change your profile description to something like this: "I'm always right. However, if you disagree with me I will not be able to refute anything you say and will just run away from the argument due to the fact that I am above everyone and you should instinctually know to respect my opinion and worship it as the prophet that I am. I will post things like "life's too short" and generally have a superiority complex because I am always right. Also, I completely miss the point of iconic action scenes in classic movies and have no ability to see individual scenes in the context of the entire film."

Your tiresome histrionics only serve to prove my previous point. If you can't move on from such a trivial disagreement, and feel that the only course of action is excessive adolescent unpleasantness, then by all means, keep posting baseless nonsense. It's "Maaxwell" by the way - two a's.

Your lack of chill is very un-Murray.

This is a forum dude. Get over yourself. I guess that levitating above the rest of us turned out to be true

Yawn! at the highly unoriginal "dictionary definition" ploy. I don't come to this site to have to defend my character against a complete stranger - I come here for fun, and to learn more about movies. Evidently, these interactions with you are offering me neither of those things. Peace out :D

Defend your character lol

Says he wants to learn about movies. Provide an insight into a movie he misread. Gets emotional about it.

Yeah, Maaxwell is acting exceedingly childish here. If you didn't want anyone to respond and (horror of horrors!) disagree with your (completely unsupported) assertions, why post on a forum to begin with?

Anywho, I see Pickpocket has watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service. While I thought the James Bond documentary Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007 (2012) was crappy and a missed opportunity, it did have one legitimately awesome thing going for it. Namely, when George Lazenby describes how he, a male model with zero acting credits, won the role of James Bond after Connery.

It's a more amazing, heroic, and thrilling story than the movie he starred in, or even most Bond films.

That may be, but it really hurts the continuity of the films. I was reading they were going to offer Lazenby a 7 picture deal but he wasn't sure if the film series was going to survive because of the feminist movement lol

Loved Christopher Lee as the villain in The Man With the Golden Gun. It was the first time where Bond almost never has the upper hand and he only beat him because of Scaramanga's ego. Has their been a worse attempt at humor in movies since Clifton James has appeared in this and Live and Let Die?

Movies:

1. Goldfinger
2. From Russia With Love
3. Live and Let Die
4. Thunderball
5. Dr. No
6. You Only Live Twice
7. The Man With the Golden Gun

Interesting, about a month ago I made my own ranking of every James Bond film, just for fun, not knowing this thread was a thing.

Anyways, my ranking, without commentary:

1. Goldfinger
2. From Russia With Love
3. Skyfall
4. The Spy Who Loved Me
5. Dr. No
6. Casino Royale (2006)
7. On Her Majesty's Secret Service
8. Octopussy
9. Thunderball
10. Diamonds Are Forever

11. You Only Live Twice
12. The Man With the Golden Gun
13. For Your Eyes Only
14. Never Say Never Again
15. The Living Daylights
16. A View to a Kill
17. Moonraker
18. License to Kill
19. Tomorrow Never Dies
20. Live and Let Die

21. Goldeneye
22. Casino Royale (1967)
23. The World is Not Enough
24. Quantum of Solace
25. Die Another Day

I haven't seen Spectre yet, so it's not included. Most of the films I watched over a decade ago and have only a hazy recollection.

Best Bonds:

1. Sean Connery
2. Daniel Craig
3. Roger Moore
4. George Lazenby
5. Timothy Dalton
6. Pierce Brosnan
7. David Niven

Despite how many people dislike them, I feel like Lazenby had the best physicality among all Bonds but the worst comedic timing and Moore had the best comedic timing and the worst physicality. Connery wasn't the best at either but still had ample amounts of both and therefore hit the perfect sweet spot. Dalton was dry and dull. Brosnan just came across as smarmy to me, although maybe I'm being overly harsh on him, simply because the movies he was in were all so terrible. Craig's bond is a very different creature, and is hard to compare to others but he brought a unique take and much greater depth to the character than any actor before.
