I consider both volumes of "Kill Bill" to be one singular film, released in 2003.

Yay (>75)
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind
Napoleon Dynamite
The Bourne Supremacy
Kill Bill: Volume 2

Nay (<10)
The Day After Tomorrow
Garfield
Catwoman
The Chronicles of Riddick
Along Came Polly
Anger Sees Red

Funny that I have more tier one films (all the nays + one more) than tiers 8-10 combined (all the yays + one more) for that year. Anger Sees Red is barely even a film, though. But to the extent it is a film, it's atrocious.

Good
10.The Machinist - 84
9. Troy - 85
8. Ray - 85
7. Shaun of the Dead - 86
6. Kill Bill Vol.2 - 86
5. Napoleon Dynamite - 87
4. The Terminal - 90
3. Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - 95
2. Garden State - 95
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - 97

Bad
5. Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed - 20
4. Johnson Family Vacation - 16
3. Superbabies: Baby Geniuses 2 - 10
2. White Chicks - 10
1. Mr. 3000 - 0

I honestly don't think 2004 was all too special. It just seemed pretty average. It had its good ones but I think 2001 and 2007 were the best years of the 2000's so far.

Listed below in descending order are the ten highest ranked movies from 2004 which I have seen (scores are indicated):

The Power of Nightmares (92)
The Staircase (85)
10 on Ten (80)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (80)
Proshchanie (80)
Guerrilla: The Taking of Patty Hearst (75)
The White Diamond (75)
The Future of Food (70)
Kings and Queen (70)
The Aviator (65)

Unusually, six of the ten are documentaries, including the only 2004 movie I know of which I consider a masterpiece. Of course, it is still possible that I have yet to see some movies that would make the list if I were to do so. Note that there is also one movie that is actually in my top ten which I have chosen to exclude from the list.

The 2004 movie to which I have given the lowest score is Taking Lives, which I gave 20.
