Mini-Review: Go ahead and see it as a set up for Whedon's Avengers due out next year. Don't expect anything deeper than what you might find in a comic book though. Watch for Richard Armitage as the Nazi Heinz Kruger - he will be in Jackson's The Hobbit as Thorin Oakenshield.
Mini-Review: The shortest of all the HP films, it is also the most cohesive. Ever actor, however short their time on the screen, gives their best performance in this final installment of the Harry Potter films. Alan Rickman especially shines in the The Prince's Tale segment when Snape's emotions are finally allowed through his veneer of sullen snarkiness - Oscar material, in my opinion.
Mini-Review: Kenneth Brannagh did a great job directing (the Asgard scenes felt Shakespearean to me) and I loved the beauty of the CGI. For the comic fans, the obligatory Stan Lee cameo is hilarious as is a passing reference to IronMan.
Mini-Review: All the actors excel in this film but Colin Firth deserves an Oscar for his performance. Historically accurate, this Period movie rises above the pack and gives the viewer a unique 'buddy' movie about overcoming adversity.
Mini-Review: Wonderful acting by the entire cast...unfortunately, too few of them get the screen time they deserve. Part 1 is essentially a story of the Trio alone and on the run while they try to figure out how to defeat Lord Voldemort. I am hopeful Part 2 will make up in action what Part 1 seems to lack.
