Mini-Review: Sheer brilliance. Irene Dunne and Cary Grant at their absolute best. I do feel sorry for the black cat who appears to have its paw superglued ( staple-gunned? ) to the door at the end ?!? Pure Joy !!
Mini-Review: Not very daring. Too repectful. PSH did nothing for me really ( good mimic though ).
Mini-Review: My second favorite of that year. Deserved the Oscar of Gandhi. The G-men in the suits were a bit much. Perfect for the time.
Mini-Review: A MASTERPIECE, pure and simple. Grows with each viewing ( and makes perfect "sense"). Probably the best film since Kiewslowski's Three Colors. Naomi Watts gives a performance for the ages. Laura Elena Harring not far behind. EVERY aspect of this film is just brilliant. Breathtaking. One of the saddest love stories I've ever seen.
Mini-Review: I consider this to be 1/3 of the greatest film of the last part of the century.
The way it was all tied up at the end made me gasp for breath.
We miss you Krystof !
Mini-Review: I consider this to be 1/3 of the greatest film of the last part of the century.
A nice breather between the two "heavier" thirds. Zbignew was amazing, especially with Jerzy !!
Mini-Review: I consider this to be 1/3 of the greatest film of the last part of the century.
Juliette Binoche went places here that most actresses could not even dream of. Simply heartbreaking.
Mini-Review: Pure joy.
Woody and Diane FOREVER !!!
Funniest Best Picture winner ... ever !
Mini-Review: A classic comedy for the ages.
Diane and Woody can do no wrong.
Mini-Review: Hated it. Smug ... superior ... full of itself... and worst of all ... NOT EVEN FUNNY !!
That the critics and the Academy went ga-ga over it is simply mind boggling.
Alexander Payne is a hateful **** !
