Mini-Review: Long but very well paced and shot, as a friend said "realistic in a good way"
Mini-Review: For any adult who has seen any kind of variety of film, this will leave a bad taste in their mouth. Main characters abilities and weaknesses are inconsistent and conveniently for certain plot points to occur, cookie cutter action movie sequences abound right down to former rivals nodding at each other in the middle of battle when one saves the other. Where Avatar relied on designed aliens to look appealing to assist the audience in caring, aliens' here hope to work like arcade games.
Mini-Review: Gripping thriller that keeps it's attention on the meat of the bone and leaves you not wanting at the end. No cheesy sequel setup, no ridiculous overblown situations, just cops chasing a psychopath.
Mini-Review: Where special effects will grab most, as a computer engineer and avid gamer it was nothing new. The story is part ferngully, part pocahontas, part activist, and part pandering. The amount of effort put into artifically creating sentiment for characters and the situation, through exaggerated arch types and specially designed aliens will engross the masses but leave a bad taste in the mouths of those who enjoy complex stories.
Mini-Review: Prepare for laughter in a well paced film, johnny depp and tim burton at their best, also hedge bets on when a certain character will finally die.
Mini-Review: Vampire film that shouldn't be referenced as a vampire film, in a good way
Mini-Review: Don't believe the marketing, this is a very well done comedy in flow, dialogue, acting, believability, everything. Not something that had me splitting at the sides, but it will certainly be well remembered and that's more than you can say for most comedies.
