Mini-Review: Beautifully constructed CGI scenes fit for the last Star Wars prequel; however, poor directing and script make it a rough ride. While most of the casting is pretty satisfying, Hayden Christiansen leaves a lot to be desired and the poor script along with Lucas's apparent lack of directing the actors, all-in-all it is still a satisfying ending to the prequel trilogy.
Mini-Review: Mr. and Mrs. Smith is more of a cliche hollywood love story than an action/thriller. The chemistry between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie feels extremely forced at times, and flows beautiful at other times. The action scenes are extremely unrealistic and are only there to further the 'romantic relation' between John and Jane at best. It is a good silly fun movie to watch when theres nothing else on or maybe to catch when it aires on TV, but probably not worth owning on a DVD rack.
Mini-Review: The sequel to Saw, Saw 2 captures the excellent atmosphere, twists, and even the relatively uninspiring acting of its' predecessor and improves on almost all of it. While it is not nessecary to watch Saw1, you won't be able to truly appreciate Saw 2 until you do and it will spoil most of Saw 1's plot. A great suspense/horror film amongst a muddy lake.
Mini-Review: "Better late than never" is truly the tagline that also applies to watching this movie. An extremely fun romanticish-comedy with jokes and conversations that feel like it wasn't even scripted and flow incredibly smooth like a real conversion between colleagues and friends. Steve Carrel delivers a marvelous performance at his role and the directing is superb. While not a family movie, it is a fantastic film to watch amongst friends or even alone. A comedy that should NOT be missed out on.
Mini-Review: War of the World can be sumed up as 95 minutes of the 'Cruise-effect' with 20 minutes of a cliche 'family drama'. The movie is truer to the book in some respects than the 1953 version, it is also less than the 1953 version in other respects. The special effects are top notch and atmosphere is thick. The directing is very typical Speilbergish, which is not entirely a bad thing. It's a great movie to waste on a Friday night.
Mini-Review: The first batman movie that feels like a true serious batman movie. Christopher Nolan delivers his usual exceptional directing skills and matching that up with Christian Bale's fantastic acting skills, you get a hell of a movie. The script is well done, the effects are great, the only thing that is truly lackluster is Katie Holmes who is possibly the movies major flaw. Even if you aren't a a batman fan you will still enjoy be able to enjoy the movie for all its worth.
Mini-Review: Another weak movie that tries to cash in on the 'paranormal' craze that struct over the past few years. While I cannot write a fair review of this movie because I fell asleep during most of movie (This should tell you something!), the plot of the film felt extremely weak on thin-ice, the acting was very ho-hum and direction felt lost at times. Unless you're forced to watch this movie by a parent, I cannot see anyone willingly trying to watch this.
Mini-Review: A very cliche action film that rolls on a rocky road. The plot is almost the epitome of cliche action films. The 'villians' are a bunch of teenage kids who're all extremely weak in their role. Bruce Willis does his job well and acts the 'tired cop' perfectly. The directing is there but feels like it is the directors first time. There are no real twists or anything to spice this film up and drags during some of the film. The ending is very predictable but satisfying. If you're a Bruce Willi
Mini-Review: First i'd like to say the major reason this gets a high rating is because the directors cut is a beautiful masterpeice compared to the poor theatrical cut. The movie starts off somewhat slow but picks up fast. Orlando Bloom is somewhat unrealistic in his portrayl of a 'blacksmith' but is probably one of his better performances. Riddley Scott's amazing directing and effects truly shine here along with the rest of the cast. The religious tones are done perfectly, not to make a message for bein
