Mini-Review: I've not seen the Swedish version but it does feel like another film hovers over this one. Craig and Mara are good, even with wibbly-wobbly Swedish acents. Skarsgard is always great. It's not bad but I am now more interested in the original
Mini-Review: It's certainly well made and well acted. Meryl convinces as Maggie and I think they nicked some of Carol Thatcher's wardrobe for Olivia Colman to wear. However, the film just doesn't show the controversy provoked by Thatcher, or really why she was ousted. An interesting curio with strong acting, no more
Mini-Review: Informative and fascinating
Mini-Review: The JG-L train continues and I'm as impressed as ever. I do wish we could understand more about the Zooey Deschanel character, who just seems willfully vague at times.
Mini-Review: It's very silly but it's the D so what can you do?
Mini-Review: It's OK. I'm struggling for anything else to say.
Mini-Review: It's Harold and Kumar. In 3D. It's the same stuff but new, which I really like. NPH is brilliantly wierd as ever in this series.
Mini-Review: It must be said that this is not a comedy, but a drama with comedic elements. That said, this is a very good serious look at cancer. It doesn't just go for cheap laughs and become crude. Joseph Gordon-Levitt impresses me more with each film I see.
Mini-Review: This isn't bad by any means but I never really follow Micky, never really invest in his struggle or triumph. I left feeling flat, rather than elated.
Also, Bale's Oscar performance I see. Melissa Leo not so much.
