Mini-Review: Yes, the filmmakers accomplished something impressive with what they had. The actors impressed me. But the characterization was faulty, which was the script's fault. And despite a couple of good ones, the scares were telegraphed.

Mini-Review: I wasn't expecting John Carpenter or Rob Zombie or even Sam Raimi; I expected Diablo Cody--I got the whole shebang, actually, lazily scrambled together. I mean, I got the film's message but it's lost in my near-total apathy for any of the characters.
