Mini-Review: Okay, this movie is pretty lame despite how fun Connery can be. There are some interesting stunts, but few and far between. This movie is more about how the relationship between the two developes, but unfortunately the charisma isn't there. This is a poor attempt at "The Thomas Crown Affair".
Mini-Review: Three cheers for Shaun!!! This movie is fantabulous! So many different elements all brought together wonderfully to make a true zombie classic that is actually honest about what it is. Anyone who doesn't fall in love with this movie is a fool, it is exactly what it was meant to be, and done just as it should have been.
Mini-Review: All I can say is...Yes. This is a good movie, starts of lame with the random shots of what high school really isn't like, but the movie finds itself in a very wonderful way. Great movie, great story, great comedy.
Mini-Review: This is definately one of Antoine Fuqua's better jobs as a director. The strangest part about it is when you hear about how much effort went into the script. When they talk about making the movie they talk about shining a light on all of the long running African genocide politics, but this movie simply isn't about that, it's about a man learning to let himself feel, to care about something other than getting the job done. So he begins to care about the genocide stuff? No, he has a crush o
Mini-Review: At a set design/special effects/art direction standpoint...this movie is stunning and fabulous. Cinematography/Direction/Dialogue/Plot/Adaption/Storytelling, etc. this movie is horrible. By the time they get into the 'Horseman's' backstory you are so bored with the decapitations that you don't care about the detail and perfection that went into creating the effect. They spend so little time developing the story that during the last fifteen minutes they have to explain everything to try an
Mini-Review: Yes, Yes, Yes. Love this movie. I don't know how historically accurate this is, but it's a wonderful movie. They deal with so many different elements, and all with a wonderful soundtrack of classics to help move the story along. Lou D is great in this role, and it actually makes you wish he were around a bit more...or at least getting better work. The only thing that bothered me was how polished everything was. It's like nothing ever got used until that moment when it was on camera. Any
Mini-Review: Okay, here's the thing; I am a progressive/liberal, and I completely support this documentary being viewed, but I do not support Moore's judgement of what information he would use. I applaude the use of facts, but not the process of choosing some and avoiding others just to make a point. When you do that you simply come off as exaggerated, and that's exactly what this documentary is, an exaggeration.
Mini-Review: So many negative things had been said about this movie by the time I finally viewed it. I don't know what they were all complaining about. This movie is amusing, charming, and inspiring. Entertainment at its best. This is one of the few times that I can actually stand to watch Catherine Zeta-Jones. Wonderfully cast and executed, easily one of Spielberg's best, and Hank's continues to justify all of his nominations and awards.
Mini-Review: Say what you will, this movie is fantastic. Much like 'Dogma' and 'Oh God', this is a "COMEDY"!!! Sure it very openly and honestly deals with a lot of issues that seperate common sense from religion, but in a light hearted and entertaining way. Jim Carrey is flawless in this one, and Morgan Freeman finally chose to play himself as himself in a movie. A huge step in the right direction away from Ace Ventura.
Mini-Review: Now don't get me wrong, but I can't stand Reese Witherspoon, I think she looks like a cartoon duck without a bill, but she is great in this movie. When I heard Phoenix and Witherspoon as Cash and Carter, I think my initial reaction was..."WHAT!?!?!?!!?!?!?!" But the director was right. Phoenix was fantabulous as Cash. He transformed himself in ways that maybe a handful of actors will accomplish in their whole career. The way is posture and voice change progressively throughout the movie
