Mini-Review: Politically savvy, stirring, and more than a little bit scary, but every time I think of it I feel like I should regard it more fondly than I actually do. I can appreciate it, but it's too bland for me to ever want to return to.
Mini-Review: Hamstrung by its proximity to Casino Royale. This might have been a Good Bond Film a decade ago in the Brosnan years, but the stakes have been raised. The people expect something new from Bond.
Mini-Review: Aimless and amiable, just like the kind of summer it so expertly captures. Kristen Stewart's never been better.
Mini-Review: Not always easy to follow, but the dialogue crackles and the performances are top-notch. Excellent film.
Mini-Review: Kind of ordinary, when all is said and done...
Mini-Review: I haven't seen it in a long time, but it's an incredibly valuable film to me for several reasons. It taught me that movies can be beautiful, that they can say more than simple storytelling, and that other countries can make things worth watching too.
Mini-Review: Not Hitchcock's strongest movie, but probably my favorite of his. I don't know why I love it so much.
Mini-Review: Fitfully interesting, mostly for its visuals and for a strong pre-Pirates Johnny Depp performance, but not really worth watching altogether. Too generic, too hastily put together.
Mini-Review: A fine comedy and a great springboard for Reese Witherspoon's ascent into Hollywood.
