Mini-Review: Brilliant, and with Louise Brooks in her at her very best. Feels as claustrophobic and inevitable as a bad dream. Passionately explores one dark aspect of femaleness in a way that today would be politically unacceptable if not impossible, touching some powerful places in the psyche.
Mini-Review: Excellent, learned so much about htis devastating war. Lincoln was fascinating.
Mini-Review: Pretty cool.
Mini-Review: flabby. sentimentalizing, cheezy. treats religious rites of other cultures in a way I found icky, like it was "terribly special" or somehting.
Mini-Review: The film was overall kind of disorganized, but truly amazing dancing and views into people's lives.
Mini-Review: Pretty great.
Mini-Review: Great documentary. Actual pimps discuss their work and personal lives, how it's done, etc. Intensely interesting.
Mini-Review: One of my favorite films ever.
