Mini-Review: Not as bad as I expected (high praise indeed, right?)
Probably best-suited for those familiar with a NYC/Manhattan culture, the movie contains many "inside" jokes that a non-NYC person won't "get".
Mini-Review: Had some funny moments, but I (and others whose opinions I solicited) have trouble understanding the fuss over this movie.
Maybe it's a "background" issue - I never had these types of experiences, so I couldn't relate to it.
I'm also not used to "female raunch". I'd hoped I would enjoy that, but found it uncomfortable.
Mini-Review: Cute & clever, well-done, self-aware, and multi-layered.
Mini-Review: Such potential - wasted! A cross between a social satire and a comedy, and succeeds at neither. (and I'm a huge Frank Oz fan, BTW)
Mini-Review: Enjoyable, but I didn't "get" the conflict. I thought there was a lot of humanity in all the characters, and didn't even know for whom I was "rooting!"
Mini-Review: Surprising enjoyable.
