| 75 T7 | Cloud Atlas (2012) - Mar 03, 2013
"The film is much too ambitious and feels like it doesn't quite get there. But having said that I was totally engrossed in the stories and I quite enjoyed it in the end. It was really cool to see the same actors play different characters in each of the stories (although the makeup didn't work at times). It won't be for everyone but certainly feels like you should see it."

| 70 T6 | Lincoln (2012) - Feb 24, 2013
"It is an enjoyable film. Particularly if you are interested in that era and that part of history. It's directed very well by Spielberg but this film is completely and utterly on the back DDL. His performance is quite astonishing and watching him completely transform into the role is worth the price of admission alone."
|
| 65 T5 | Flight (2012) - Feb 24, 2013
"Let's just get out of the way the fact that Denzel never really fails to deliver. No different here. Having said that, this movie failed to leave a mark with me. The crash scene was filmed really well. Then after that, I don't think the film succeeds in what it was trying to do. I did enjoy all the performances though."
|
| 85 T10 | Amour (2012) - Feb 24, 2013
"It's an incredibly sad film. But it's not at all in a depressing way or even an overly emotional way. The performances are amazing, but I think it's the film's director that should get the credit here. The lingering takes, numerous tracking shots and a lot of the what-you-dont-sees; it's almost so intimate, it's unnerving. Great film."
|
| 75 T7 | Blue Valentine (2010) - Feb 14, 2013
"Very very good but so so sad. Performances by both are quite astonishing and story is inter-weaved together seamlessly. Doesn't try to do too much and makes you feel sympathetic to both sides of this unfortunate situation. Certainly a film that gets you thinking and talking about it, which I believe is a sign of great film."
|
| 75 T7 | Silver Linings Playbook (2012) - Feb 13, 2013
"Not sure it deserves all the oscar hype, but it's a very enjoyable film. Amazing and impressive performances all around, it felt like they depicted the mental illnesses and the overwhelming sensations that you could get really well. Not as tear-jerky as I'd been told but still has its touching and emotional moments."
|
| 60 T4 | Zero Dark Thirty (2012) - Feb 04, 2013
"I thought the film was well made and directed, but it was essentially a documentary and recount of what took place. This makes the film as whole just okay. There really isn't enough character development for us to care or invest in it and because we know the outcome, there really is no excitement (barring the finale scenes)."
|
| 85 T10 | Django Unchained (2012) - Jan 29, 2013
"Don't be put off by how Western it looks, because it is QT's spin on it and it is ridiculously entertaining. His "I'ma do things my way" attitude is all over this film and because of that it chugs along at a nice pace. He also seems to draw great performances from his cast and this is no exception, with Waltz's character a major standout. Also has a killer soundtrack."
|
| 75 T7 | Despicable Me (2010) - Jan 22, 2013
"I've seen this a few times but it never fails to put a smile on my face. The minions are flat out the best characters ever. I want one! The animation looks great and has an amazing vocal cast. There's enough in the story to keep everyone happy. Also Pharrel doing his thing on the soundtrack is pretty awesome."
|
| 60 T4 | Compliance (2012) - Jan 22, 2013
"I don't think i've ever been more bewildered and dumbfounded watching a movie, before I saw this. As it goes from stupid to completely absurd, you're just wondering what the heck they were thinking. The performances are great and the filmmakers do a great job in bringing it to life."
